Streaming platforms provide us with a huge selection of movies and series of all genres and kinds. New productions are released every month. However, not all of them are worth the time. Yes, not all series are created equal. The Netflix platform has a lot of productions on offer, and it is sometimes difficult to choose one specific title from among the lot. Following, I will present a few suggestions that will make it easier for you to make a decision when it comes to choosing a series that is worth your while. For me these are the best shows on Netflix!
YOU – LOVING THE STALKER

Currently, it is one of the most popular series in the world. It is rife with brutality and scenes that make your hair spike! At times, it can evoke extreme emotions in the viewer. The series revolves around a young male stalker who, before “accidentally” meeting a woman, will first conduct a long investigation about her whereabouts: her place of residence, with whom she meets, what she likes to do, etc.. Mostly his relationships turn out to be very toxic and dangerous. If a woman catches his eye- well, she’s out of luck. He will do literally anything, even kill, to get her attention.
VIKINGS – BRUTALITY, RAIDS & THE FIGHT FOR POWER

Vikings, anybody? Vikings is another hit series on the Netflix platform. It tells the story of the legendary Viking – Ragnar Lothbrok. His great ambitions and desire to discover civilization on the other side of the great ocean, inevitably leads to gargantuan conflicts. In the struggle for fame and fortune, he will face adversity itself! The show consists of 6 seasons, with as many as 89 episodes in total. I must admit that I do not like this kind of series, but after watching the first episode I changed my mind. It took me less than a month to watch all the seasons. So there’s my two cents on the matter.
13 REASONS WHY – TAPES FULL OF SECRETS

Another Netflix series based on the best-selling book by Jay Asher. A young boy – Clay- receives a mysterious box containing cassette tapes. It turns out that they were recorded by a tragically deceased classmate – Hannah. She did so in order to explain why she was going to commit suicide. Thanks to these recordings, Clay determines 13 reasons for the death of her friend.
This crime-and-youth production from Netflix is addictive and offers at least thirteen reasons to fall in love with it.
LUCIFER – CHARMING DEVIL

One of Netflix’s biggest hits. “Lucifer” is a crime series with elements of Urban fantasy. It tells the story of a devil who decides to leave the position of the Lord of Hell and take the form of a handsome man in his thirties – Lucifer Morningstar. He travels to Los Angeles, where he becomes the owner of a luxurious nightclub. At the beginning of the series, we can recognize him as the epitome of a hedonist who approaches life with joy and ease. However, everything changes when he meets the detective Chloe. SQUID GAME – DEADLY CHILDHOOD GAMES

I suppose everyone has heard about this production. This Korean production has already been watched by over 111 million viewers, thus becoming the largest debut in the history of Netflix. Squid Game was released on 17/09/2021 on the platform and immediately became the most watched series in the world. Squid Game is a suspenseful series that spans 9 episodes.
MONEY HEIST – PERFECT ROBBERY?

Another production which turned out to be a worldwide hit. It i s one of the most-chosen series on the Netflix platform.
The Spanish series is based on a simple premise: eight masked criminals attack the Spanish mint and are barricaded with hostages. One of them – the professor, an absolute genius and the brain of the operation, manipulates the police and a whole team of specialists who are trying to free the hostages. The production consists of 5 seasons, 48 episodes in total, which is quite a lot to watch. So, if you have a lot of spare time up your sleeve, I recommend you check out Money Heist.
THE CHESTNUT MAN – INHUMAN ACTS OF A PSYCHOPATH

If you are a fan of dark series with a thrill, then The Chestnut Man is for you. It is a Danish series based on the best-selling novel by Soren Sveistrup. The Chestnut Man is a thriller in the genre that is referred to as Nordic Noir. The plot is captivating from the very first minutes of the series: on one of the playgrounds in Copenhagen, the police find a chestnut man next to the body of a brutally murdered woman. This detail is related to a mysterious disappearance from years ago. They soon realize they may have to deal with a serial killer. Will the police manage to solve the mystery of all murder mysteries? What do the men left on the bodies of the victims mean? It’s popcorn time!
